Board of Directors

  • Jessica Remme

My amazing husband Travis and I live in Rock Rapids, IA. We have 3 beautiful children; Braxton (11) Gavin (8) and Oaklyn (5). The Oaklyn Foundation started in 2018 after the unexpected loss of our sweet daughter Oaklyn. We never wanted other families to feel alone after the loss of their child and wanted to end the stigma that surrounds pregnancy, infant, and child loss. We feel that every family should be able to celebrate their children whether they are here on earth or in heaven.

  • Erin Berg

My name is Erin Berg, and I am the Vice President of the Oaklyn Foundation. My husband Travis and I have 4 children: Hadley, Jude, Ellis, and Colson. In April 2016, Jude Jennie was stillborn at 36 weeks gestation with no known cause. Through my role at the Oaklyn Foundation, I am deeply committed to raising awareness around stillbirth, pregnancy loss, and infant loss, while honoring Jude’s life and legacy. My work is driven by love, remembrance, and the belief that no family should feel alone in their grief.

  • Kara Acevedo

My name is Kara Acevedo, and I am the Chief Financial Officer at Promise Community Health Center. I live in northwest Iowa with my husband and 3 energetic kiddos. In 2022, we were surprised to find out we were expecting spontaneous twins to our crew. At just 21 weeks, our twins, Grayson John and Emery Jean became part of our family, as well as, gaining their angel wings. The Oaklyn Foundation was a light to us in a dark time, with a care package and two bears, weighing the same as our little peanuts. Leaving the hospital with those two bears in our arms gave us comfort in a time of grief - we are grateful for what Oaklyn Foundation provides to families.

  • Krista Bullerman

I'm Krista Bullerman. I live on a farm in southwest Minnesota with my husband and 3 amazing kids. I am also a Caregiver Coordinator and RN for Visiting Angels. I have personal ties to the Foundation because sweet Oaklyn is my niece. I have watched Jessica build the Foundation into such an amazing resource that has helped so many people. It is such a special part of my life. I lost my first child to miscarriage in October of 2013 and sadly at that time there were not any resources out there to give me any comfort or guidance. I struggled for many years to come to terms with what happened and I credit the Oaklyn Foundation for helping me through everything!

  • Molly

    Molly Kreutzfeldt

My name's Molly Kreutzfeldt, and I am a graphic designer at POET in Sioux Falls. My husband, Derek, and I live in Tea where we raise our 2 crazy toddlers. I originally learned about the Oaklyn Foundation in 2018 when I had helped Jessica with designing a flyer, not knowing that I would eventaully have a miscarriage of my own. I had kept it inside until she taught me that every pregnancy and miscarriage is important, no matter what the gestation. I am forever grateful for this foundation for helping me through such a hard time.
